A couple from December. The close of a year is always bittersweet in some ways and this year was no exception. I’m happy that I was able to catalog the “in-between moments” when I had the chance to, and the Fuji X100VI aided that effort flawlessly.

If the holiday season has a superpower, it’s in the way that it brings people together. Before the calendars flip and the project boards take over again, we wanted to slow down long enough to look around and appreciate our people - the team that carries this place forward.

If you’ve ever woken up during the middle of the night, turned on the TV and got force-fed the paid programming ads because nothing else was on air - this is for you. An ode to the late night nostalgia that had that quirky, eccentric, yet comforting drone to the commercials that lulled you back to sleep. We adopted the essence of these and took it to an even more ridiculous level.

Uneventful November. Although… I’m finally able to share some Polaroids that I shot back in October for an all-analog film show, “Double Negative II,” hosted by Patrick Murphy at House of Waves in Newport, RI.

Six years of our annual excursion North. I have a deep love for coastal Maine, in particular Acadia National Park and the general area of Mount Desert Island. Six years ago I finally decided to load up the car with a couple of friends and head up there for a the weekend. I’ve been back every year since.

October is my favorite month of the year. All other months are inferior. The only bad part about October is what follows; the next 4-5 months of cold Winter weather looming close by.

August begins the parade of the best three months of the year in New England. The summer starts winding down and breaking way for the warm days and cool evenings that September brings.

We started July with a hurricane-like storm system that downed trees and power lines across the state, only to be followed by fireworks & cookouts days later. America's Independence Day was set to a backdrop of classic cars, live music and Narragansett Bay.

The term "influencer" gets thrown around way too easily. It has become a lazy catch-all for anyone with a following, which ignores the real strategy and amount of work it takes to make engaging content. Today’s best creators aren’t just influencing! They’re writing, producing, editing, testing, watching analytics, and constantly scrutinizing every detail to make sure their content lands with their target audience.

We've been quiet, but behind the scenes, BLK MKT Studios has been evolving. We’ve been renovating our space, adding to our team, launching new merch, and expanding our reach. A lot has been happening quietly, and now it feels like the right time to open the doors and reintroduce ourselves.

There’s not much to say here. Maybe just that this is only a quarter of the photos I took while on leave. The other portion exclusively reserved for friends and family since they’re all mostly that anyways. These are just the in-between moments that stuck out in the wake of learning how to take care of a newborn & being surrounded by loved ones.
