Photo Journal: March 2025

A Change is Gonna Come.

By the time these words are published and tucked into their respective corner of the internet for any and all to read, that change will likely have already happened. In this case, "change" is a baby. (Edited 04/08: Confirmed! A beautiful baby girl has arrived!)

March was another month of “hurry up and wait”, caught in limbo, going through the motions. This time of the year would normally make a statement like that sound excruciatingly depressing, but it’s felt like quite the opposite. It’s been slow and steady, and I’ve been focused – which is exactly what I’ve needed, so I’m more than content.

On the photography side of things, it naturally skews toward the mundane side of the scale. Wake up, drive to the studio, work, eat, drive home, sleep. Wake up, drive to my other office, work, eat, drive home, sleep. You get the point. I tried to capture the feeling of the moments: the familiar, temperamental New England weather in transition and the smaller, less noticeable details of the days. Not every day needs to be a production. We thrive in simplicity.

Sometimes just existing is enough. Right now I’m happy here. Working quietly, peacefully. Waiting. Soaking in this space and time before it all gets flipped upside down and shaken up like a snow globe. April will be the catalyst of change – bringing warmer weather, the spoils of months of work coming to fruition, growth, opportunity, and of course, a baby.

This is the calm before the storm, and the storm looks great.
